Scopes — Define Observation Areas

Scopes determine from which perspective AI models search for you. They are the foundation of every visibility analysis.

What is a Scope?

A Scope is an observation area — a thematic lens through which ZENO queries AI models about your brand. Instead of just checking Company X, you can specifically ask about your product, a person, a topic, or your brand as a whole. Each Scope generates its own prompts, results, and visibility scores.

The Four Scope Types

ZENO supports four different scope types that cover different perspectives on your visibility:

Brand

Your overall brand as a scope. Ideal for corporate visibility, industry comparisons, and general brand perception by AI models.

Product

A specific product or service. Ideal when you want to track individual offerings separately — e.g., different software modules or service packages.

Person

A key person such as CEO, subject matter expert, or thought leader. For personal branding and tracking individual visibility in AI responses.

Topic

A subject area, trend, or industry concept. Ideal for checking whether AI models recognize you as an expert on specific topics.

Creating Scopes

Go to Monitor → Setup → Company Data. There you can add scopes, name them, and provide a description. The AI Auto-Setup feature automatically generates matching prompts for each scope. You can create as many scopes as you like — scan costs increase proportionally with the number of prompts.

Start with a Brand scope for your company. Add Product scopes when you want to track individual offerings separately. Person scopes are excellent for thought-leadership strategies.
